Common Data Model for Capital Markets by Anbima
About the Common Data Model
What Is the Capital Markets Project?
The Legal Common Data Model - Capital Markets (L-CDM/CM) is a technical specification created by Anbima in partnership with Looplex to provide data on events, entities, and document services for market offerings in a standardized format, which includes:
- Entity identifiers for financial and legal information in an operation.
- Metadata specifying how legal content information is described in offering documents.
- A specific language for sharing operational information in a machine-readable format.
The L-CDM/CM initiative is part of the Solutions program developed by Looplex with market players to create content accelerators (projections) for the Brazilian Capital Markets. It extends and deepens the semantic reference model of general Law (common data model for the legal domain, the Legal Common Data Model).
Benefits of the Capital Markets-LCDM
Detailed Quality Data
The L-CDM/CM improves the quality and reliability of online legal information through the use of structured data identifiers and metadata.
Enhanced Interoperability
The L-CDM/CM encourages interoperability between different systems of market agents by structuring contractual terms in a standardized way.
Process Uniformity and Automation
Market operations processing can be streamlined using automated electronic procedures, such as automatic protocol generation and information disclosure.
Transparency and Liquidity
Standardizing the business elements of each market transaction or operation paves the way for greater data access and increased asset liquidity. Legal clauses and elements beyond payment structures and dates become measurable and accessible for market participants’ valuation models.
Development of New Businesses
The Anbima platform’s provision of structured and standardized market operation data, along with automation of associated business processes, creates a foundation for future execution of transactions and settlements on electronic platforms.
