Looplex Assistant
Artificial intelligence for legal work with context, continuity, and lawyer oversight.
Looplex Assistant is the product for collaborating with artificial intelligence on legal work. In Copilot mode, it supports users as they interact within the platform’s modules. In Autopilot mode, it carries out delegated assignments, with monitoring, guidance, and review in Workbench.
You can look up information, develop analyses, prepare documents, and delegate assignments. Assistant uses matter information and your organization’s standards to support the work and prepare deliverables.
Documents, interactions, and results remain associated with the assignment, allowing you to resume an analysis, incorporate new information, and move between stages without rebuilding the context for each request.
What Is Looplex Assistant?
Assistant is Looplex’s product for collaborating on, delegating, monitoring, and reviewing work performed with artificial intelligence.
It supports work on litigation, contracts, transactions, and other legal matters, using the documents, history, and information available in each context. Its specialties cover different types of work, such as defense preparation, contract review, research, and legal opinions.
Lawyers contribute guidance, clarification, reviews, and approvals throughout the work.
Two Ways to Work with Assistant
In Copilot mode, you guide the activity through interactions within the module you are using. You can ask questions, compare information, develop an analysis, and refine content with Assistant.
In Autopilot mode, you delegate an objective. The platform coordinates the steps and tools required within the applicable scope, playbooks, and permissions. Work can continue in the background, with monitoring and human intervention in Workbench.
Both modes can contribute to the same matter: an interaction can lead to a delegated assignment, and an assignment can return to the lawyer for clarification, review, or approval.
Key Features and Benefits
Matter Context from the Start
When starting an assignment associated with a matter or project, Assistant uses the context available in that environment: documents, parties, client information, tasks, history, and previous results.
In litigation, this context may include the parties’ allegations, the evidence collected, and previous analyses. In a contract negotiation, it may include contract versions, positions discussed, and client instructions.
This reduces the need to resend documents and repeat explanations. Access to information respects the permissions and boundaries defined for each matter and team.
Specialties for Different Types of Work
Specialties organize the assignments you can delegate to Assistant. Each corresponds to a legal activity with its own objectives and deliverables, for example:
- Defense preparation: organize facts, connect documents and evidence, and prepare a draft for review.
- Contract review: examine clauses, compare versions, and assess the document against the organization’s criteria.
- Due diligence: analyze document collections and consolidate findings in reports or matrices.
- Research and legal opinions: gather references, examine issues, and prepare analyses grounded in the sources consulted.
A single matter can include assignments from different specialties. Each assignment retains its instructions, interactions, and deliverables while remaining linked to the matter it belongs to.
Collaboration Throughout Execution
You can guide Assistant in natural language, add documents, provide clarification, and request changes as work progresses.
In Workbench, the conversation and deliverables are available in the same environment. This allows you to discuss a conclusion, request revisions to a draft, or supplement an analysis while following its development.
When new information is added, Assistant can assess its effects on deliverables in progress. A document received from a client, for example, may supplement the chronology of events and prompt a revision to part of a defense.
Applying Your Organization’s Standards
Assistant uses the templates, reference materials, and legal playbooks provided by your organization to guide the work.
Playbooks define legal and operational criteria, such as negotiation positions, legal arguments, boundaries of action, and approval conditions. Configured workflows organize the stages and people responsible for applying those criteria, using the relevant templates and materials.
Lawyers can supplement the instructions to address the specifics of each matter, subject to the organization’s policies, permissions, and approval authority.
Memory of Working with You
On plans that include memory, Assistant can retain preferences and instructions developed through its work with the user.
In new interactions, it can consider aspects such as the preferred structure of a report, the level of detail in an analysis, and the writing conventions specified by the professional. This continuity reduces repeated instructions and helps bring deliverables closer to the way you work.
Matter history brings together the documents and events associated with that matter. Memory adds continuity to the collaboration between Assistant and the user. Remembered preferences are applied within the organization’s policies and permissions.
Availability of the memory feature depends on the subscribed plan.
Review, Approval, and Continuity
You can monitor assignments, examine the references used, compare versions, and request changes before approving a deliverable.
Review and approval points follow the rules applicable to the activity. When a step requires clarification or validation, the assignment can be routed to the responsible professional so that execution can continue.
The history helps explain how a deliverable evolved and what information was considered. Legal assessment and final approval remain the lawyer’s responsibility.
Legal Knowledge Under the Lawyer’s Control
Assistant applies the knowledge provided by the team through documents, instructions, templates, and playbooks. The professionals responsible for the work define the legal strategies, arguments, and choices.
Looplex post-trains its own models exclusively for classification tasks, using only fully anonymized data. This training improves capabilities such as recognizing and categorizing information and documents.
Looplex does not post-train models for legal reasoning. Lawyers’ know-how guides the work through the context and instructions provided, without being incorporated into model weights for that purpose.
This distinction also applies to personalization: retaining context and memory to collaborate with a user is different from using that information to train a model.
