Looplex Content

Document management for people and AI agents

Looplex Content is Looplex’s document management system (DMS), designed to help organizations organize, store, find, share, and use documents throughout their lifecycle. Built with technology developed by Looplex, it brings together day-to-day document management and the use of organizational content by AI in a single product.

For teams, Content serves as a full-featured document management application. For Looplex Autopilot agents, it provides organized document collections they can search and use to carry out work. The product combines its own repository with the ability to connect to and index documents stored in other systems across the organization.

A Complete Document Management Application

Looplex Content brings together the capabilities needed to manage document collections for law firms, legal departments, and other teams across the organization:

  • Capture and storage: Brings together documents uploaded by users, generated within the platform, or received through integrations, including both files and their metadata.
  • Organization and classification: Structures document collections by client, case, contract, project, document type, and other criteria relevant to the work, with automation to support file classification, indexing, and identification.
  • Search and retrieval: Helps users find documents through their content, metadata, and relationships with the organization’s matters.
  • Version control and history: Organizes document versions and tracks their evolution as teams draft, review, and use them.
  • Collaboration and document workflows: Supports document sharing and routing for review, approval, and other workflow stages.
  • Permissions and governance: Controls access to document collections, defines who can view or modify documents, and tracks operations performed.

Storage is part of this experience: documents produced in Builder, received as part of a case, or generated by an agent can be added to the collection and remain available for subsequent work. Teams can use Content directly in their everyday document workflows, with AI capabilities available to assist with or automate activities.

Document organization combines content, metadata, and relationships with the matters to which documents belong. A contract can be linked to a company, a transaction, and its amendments; a court filing can be linked to the corresponding case, the parties, and the documents supporting it.

With support from the Looplex Reference Semantic Model and the organization’s settings, document collections can be classified by document type and other concepts relevant to legal practice. This makes it easier to retrieve coherent sets of information for an analysis, a query, or an automated activity.

Content also allows teams to organize reference materials for reuse, including templates, clauses, legal arguments, legal opinions, and supporting materials. This content can be used alongside playbooks, which guide the criteria and instructions applicable to the work.

Document Collections for AI Agents

Looplex Content provides persistent document collections for Looplex Autopilot. Documents associated with a case, a portfolio, a transaction, or a knowledge domain can form the collection agents use across different activities and stages of work.

Using this context, agents can locate relevant documents, extract information, compare content, prepare analyses, and produce new documents. Results can be saved in Content, linked to the relevant matter, and made available for reference, review, or further work.

In a due diligence review, for example, a transaction’s document collection can be used to identify contracts, extract clauses and obligations, and prepare a review matrix. In litigation, case documents and supporting materials from the client can support the assessment of a claim and preparation of a defense. In both cases, Content organizes the document collection, while Autopilot performs the activities defined in the workflow and playbooks.

Agent access to documents is governed by the permissions assigned to each run. Document and version references help teams review results and continue the work.

A Native Repository and Connections to Other Collections

Looplex Content can serve as the organization’s primary repository and also connect to document collections maintained in other environments.

In the native repository, documents are stored and managed directly by Content, with its organization, metadata, versions, and access controls.

In connected repositories, documents can remain in their source systems while their content and metadata are indexed for search and use in Looplex, depending on the integration. A project can include connections to environments such as Microsoft SharePoint, Amazon S3, and other document management or storage systems.

This combination brings documents managed by Content and information from external collections into a shared search experience while retaining information about their sources. Indexing makes content searchable; the ability to edit, save new versions, or synchronize documents depends on each connector’s capabilities. The integration also accounts for the access permissions applicable to the documents.

For organizations using M-Files, Content can integrate with that environment in partnership with M4LAW, as part of a solution tailored to the client’s needs.

Integration with the Looplex Platform
