Working with Artificial Intelligence
Looplex’s artificial intelligence participates in legal work using matter context, available documents, and the organization’s instructions. It can support an inquiry, interpret incoming information, suggest actions, or carry out an activity with several steps.
To understand this experience, it helps to distinguish the products you use, the modes in which AI participates, and the tools that support the work.
Assistant and Intelligence
Looplex Assistant is the product for collaborating with artificial intelligence on legal work. You can use it to look up information, develop analyses, prepare documents, and delegate assignments while monitoring and reviewing the results.
Looplex Intelligence is the product for interpreting situations and recommending actions. Starting with an input, such as a court notice, an email, or a contract proposal, it considers the applicable context and criteria to suggest next steps to the lawyer.
Both products can contribute to the same matter. Intelligence can help identify an action, and Assistant can support or carry out the corresponding work.
Copilot and Autopilot Are Modes of Use
The modes define how the user and artificial intelligence conduct the work.
In Copilot mode, you guide the activity through interactions: you ask questions, add instructions, examine responses, and decide how to proceed. Assistant appears in the context of the module you are using, drawing on the information available in that environment.
In Autopilot mode, you delegate an objective or monitor an assignment initiated by a configured workflow. The platform coordinates the necessary operations and activities, preserves the work’s progress, and requests human participation at designated points.

Products can use these modes according to the activity and available configuration:

Policies and Work Assignment
Legal playbooks define the legal and operational criteria that guide analyses, routing, boundaries of action, and approvals. Configured workflows organize their application into stages and responsibilities.
Works organizes intake, priority, and work assignment according to those policies. A request can be assigned to the team, to Assistant, or to both working together, while retaining the people responsible for monitoring and review.
The Role of Workbench
Workbench is the environment where you monitor delegated assignments, interact about their execution, and review deliverables.
There, you can provide clarification, add instructions, and respond to requests for review or approval. These interactions are part of supervising work in Autopilot mode.
A conversation in Workbench can guide an assignment that remains under the platform’s coordination. The presence of a conversational interface therefore does not, by itself, define the mode of use.
From Interaction to Delegated Execution
When opening a matter, you can use Assistant in Copilot mode to understand a decision and discuss its effects. Intelligence can support this assessment with suggested actions.
If you decide to prepare a full analysis or a draft, you can delegate that assignment in Autopilot mode. The objective, available context, and relevant instructions become part of the assignment, which can be monitored in Workbench.
Similarly, a configured workflow can initiate an analysis when new information arrives. Routing follows the organization’s execution and approval rules.
Context, Memory, and Permissions
Both modes use the information made available and authorized for each activity. Documents, matter data, and playbooks help keep the work aligned with the matter and the organization’s criteria.
Memory of collaboration with the user, when included in the plan, adds preferences and instructions from previous assignments, applied within the organization’s policies and permissions. Availability of that memory depends on the subscribed offering.
Continuity of an assignment in Autopilot and user memory are separate capabilities: the former preserves work progress; the latter helps personalize collaboration.
Use in Other Environments
Connectors can make authorized Looplex data and tools available in other working environments. The available operations and their execution conditions depend on the integration, permissions, and configuration in place.
